Now’s the time to gear up for seed sowing. Think about planting spuds. Add compost and organic matter to the soil; it’s not too late to grow a quick green manure. If things are getting too moist and there’s a danger of mould or fungus, try an application of biodynamic preparation 508, based on horsetail. In Australia, we use casuarina (sheoak) needles soaked in water to make a herb tea solution.
Note that these dates are generally for planting SEEDS – wait til the last frost has passed before you plant these summer veges as seedlings.
