July Garden Notes

This months guide to gardening with the cosmos is now posted under Garden Notes.

It’s a good time for gathering compost materials and building a heap or two. Fallen autumn leaves make a fabulous composted seed raising mix. Cow manure is the best manure source. Find out more at our biodynamic compost workshop on August 22. We’ll have an introduction to the basics of biodynamics and make a large communal heap. This is an efficient way to make a large amount of compost that will be ready to use in around 12 weeks time.

Celia Celia Cornick and Rosie Gegenhuber who are running a year long Melbourne based biodynamics course (cost $1200) will be coming up to run the session (free to garden members). They have 38 participants enrolled in the Melbourne course and a wait list for next year. More info soon……
