Happy New Gardening Year

It has been a cool summer so far, but things seem likely to heat up through January. So spring veges which are still producing; peas, broadies and the like, will quickly give way to beans, tomatoes, zukes and other summer delights, if you have them in the ground, that is. It has been a slow germination for most summer veges simply because we haven’t had the temperatures (day and night) they need to sprout and grow. And watering will become an added chore, since rain events have made this an almost forgotten garden task!

The guide to gardening by the cosmos for January has just been posted, in time to add ‘food gardening’ to your resolutions for the next month. Go to the Garden Notes to start 2011 productively.

Enjoy the harvest!
