Winter. For hardy gardeners, July notes are now posted

We are well into the depths of winter, but the community garden is still a lovely place to visit, though perhaps not for too long!

The structural bones of our garden show through strongly. Many plants lie dormant, but promise of warmer season delights – asparagus, berries, fruits. Garlic is leafing out and the broad beans are pushing through the soil.

I love the stillness and quiet of winter in the garden. Even though it appears that little is happening, beneath the soil the biodynamic activity is at its peak.

Go to the July Notes to see when to don boots, thermals and hat, for a scratch in the patch. And don’t forget Sunday 24th July at 1pm – our first artist workshop will be held in conjunction with the garden’s potluck lunch (artists, we will feed you!).
