Dinner over, now for Penny’s Workshop…

Hot on the heels of our sellout ‘Shared Table’ community garden dinner, this Sunday 18 March we have Penny Woodward’s practical, information packed workshop.

Are you disheartened by slug and snail attacks on your newly sown plants? Frustrated by cabbage moth butterfly decimating your broccoli seedlings? Sick of resowing seed and replanting after unidentified insects have had their fill?

Penny will talk about pest repellent plants and companion planting in the morning session and then after lunch will give us some planting tips on growing garlic and other unusual alliums (think tree onion, welsh onion, shallots, leeks, etc) as we wander in the garden. Plenty of opportunities for you to ask curly questions and seek growing advice from Penny and fellow gardeners.

You will be assured of a fantastic feed, much of it sourced from the garden. Lunch and morning and afternoon teas are all provided. Contact Mary 5476 2593 or Janet 0439 003 469 to book your place.

More news and photos from both events, including all the recipes from the dinner, will be posted soon.

Meanwhile,  a couple of pictures taken from recent garden visit by Maryborough Garden Club and Castlemaine Permaculture Design Course (PDC) participants.
