We had a wonderful spring day and 39 keen participants from all over central Victoria – and further afield – to hear Simon’s enthusiatic and knowledgeable talk on fruit tree growing. After a slideshow presentation, we had a wander around our good selection of heritage apple, pear, peach, nectarine, quince, persimmon and feijoa trees. Simon showed us how to prune for structure and fruit and what to look out for on the pest and disease front. We also gained some tips on garlic and strawberry growing. Along with a sumptous lunch, it was a fine day in the garden!
